I'm Pietro Conte, graduated in Medicine and Surgery from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Humanitas Research Hostpial in Milan, and currently a PhD student in Applied Clinical Research at Humanitas University in Milan.
During my residency, I had the opportunity to train with, among others, experts in knee surgery (Prof. Marcacci, Arnaldi, Kon, and Volpi), shoulder surgery (Prof. Castagna), and hip surgery (Prof. Grappiolo). I also deepened my knowledge of sports traumatology and knee surgery with training periods abroad at the prestigious institutes ICATME in Barcelona (Prof. Joan Carles Monllau) and ORTHOCA in Antwerp (Prof. Peter Verdonk and Dr. Koen Lagae). Finally, I have enriched my educational experience with visits to the ICAR in Florence (Dr. Andrea Baldini), New York Langone University Hospital (Prof. Ran Scwartzkopf), the Lyon Ortho Clinic (Dr. David Dejour), and the Sporthopaedicum in Straubing (Prof. Thore Zantop).
I carry out clinical, surgical, and research activities, both under the NHS system and as a private practitioner, at the Knee Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Orthopedics Unit (Prof. Enrico Arnaldi) and the Center for Knee Joint Reconstruction (Prof. Elizaveta Kon) at the Humanitas Research Hospital in Milan, and at the Prosthetic Surgery and Biological Joint Reconstruction Unit (Dr. Francesco Iacono) at the Casa di Cura San Pio X in Milan.
My clinical practice focuses primarily on sports traumatology, hip and knee replacement surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery, and various conservative infiltrative treatments, with particular interest in:
Arthritis of the various joints and its conservative and prosthetic treatment (unicompartmental and total knee replacements, with or without robotic assistance)
Cartilaginous, meniscal, and ligament disorders of the knee (meniscectomy and meniscal sutures, chondral and osteochondral scaffold treatments, anterior and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using the most current and up-to-date techniques)
Regenerative medicine with infiltrative treatments such as corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid, platelet derivatives (PRP), and mesenchymal adipose and bone marrow cells
Joint preservation surgery
